INTRODUCTION

LUNAR PRESERVE 00001 establishes the first nature preserve and first landform artwork on the Moon.

The project uses the wheel imprints of the Astrolab FLIP rover to draw a circular boundary at the lunar South Pole. This project merges art, planetary stewardship, and historic cultural opportunity, positioning sponsors as foundational patrons of off-Earth culture.

PHASE I: As part of NASA’s Commercial Lunar Payload Services (CLPS) initiative, the lander and FLIP rover are launched toward the lunar South Pole, beginning their transit to the Nobile Crater region.

PHASE II: The rover will land on the lunar surface and will navigate to a hibernation zone within the Nobile Crater region.

PHASE III: Once at the hibernation zone, the rover will begin to “draw” a circle using the imprints of its wheels to demarcate a protected zone, the first off-Earth nature preserve, and the first landform art in space.

PHASE IV: Finally, the rover will complete a contiguous circle and begin to broadcast an internationally-recognized beacon, instructing other spacecraft and lunar vehicles to avoid disrupting the zone around the rover.

  • $250k for single-sponsor investor relations role (or $125k paid on mission failure), along with Executive Producer credit.

NOTES:

  • Risk

    • Space is a challenging, high-risk environment. While all worthwhile things are risky, sponsors and partners must be comfortable with the involved risk. This mission has multiple opportunities to fail during launch, landing, and rover deployment and operations. $2,375,000 (82.5%) will be refunded to Sponsor for failure to launch.

  • Delays of Launch

Global Media Moment
High probability of front-page coverage across science, culture, art, and aerospace outlets, amplified by the rising public focus on lunar activity.

Category Creation
A founding moment for the off-Earth art movement, timed precisely as commercial access to space accelerates.

Brand Alignment
Sponsors become associated with lunar stewardship, responsible exploration, and the cultural narrative of humanity’s expansion beyond Earth.

IP Portfolio
Opportunities for naming rights, licensing, NFTs, limited-edition physical and digital artifacts, branded content, and mission-aligned product collaborations.
